Summer Afternoon

Summer Afternoon

Clouds in the sky
Don’t stop to say “Hi.”
Flower so white
Pick you I might.
Cool drink with ice
Twice as nice.

Hector’s Garden

Hector's Garden

Fiber Sculpture 40" x 25"

My friend, Hector
Sweet as nectar.
On your garden you sit
Just where you fit.

Butterfly wings.
Bird sings.
Flowers grow
The bees know.

What you talk about,
Your bird friend and you,
I can’t say.
I wish I knew.

For your smile
I’ll sit for a while,
My friend, Hector.

Acrylic 16 x 20

I see.
Pollinate my flower
Such power.
Visit each one.
Don’t stop ‘till done.

Up From the Deep

up from the deep

Acrylic, 18 x 24

It started with a brush stroke,
A dab and a poke,
A color seldom used
As if to amuse.
A few more colors dabbed about
Randomly, without much thought.

A few swirls,
An upstroke wave…
Do I see water?
Big stroke was brave.
More dabs,
More color.
What to use?
A little Yeller?

Still not much.
Is that a waterfall splash?
Another line

Then it emerged
From chaos of paint
Off Center
A flower?
A little more power.

Not bad after all
Now sort of nice
Stand back
Look twice.
