Artwork and Writings of Irene Tobias Rodriguez

Having taught art for many years to all ages, my art experience covers a variety of media and techniques. I am constantly experimenting with ideas and materials. When something catches my eye or an idea pops into my head, mixes with my creativity and comes out as a work of art.

I specialize in acrylic painting and paint a variety of subjects including maritime, landscape, still life, flowers, and animals, mostly representational. I have also developed a technique I call “Puzzle Paintings” in which I cut a board into puzzle type pieces, paint each of these segments individually, them put them back together to create the completed, slightly distorted looking work.

I also work in ink, digital paintings, photographs, original quilts and various three dimensional art.
